Accounting Software Advice and Support
There are a great many products on the market all claiming to make your life simple but choosing which one to use for your business is not always straightforward.
We bring together our practical experience of using various software packages and our understanding of your business and your plans for the future to help you make the right decision and choose the software that is best for you.
Here are a few of the most popular ones which we work with:
Sage is one of the most popular business software packages with a long pedigree and stacked with features, but in our experience very few businesses use it to anywhere near its full potential. Sage is generally more suitable for businesses with an experienced or qualified bookkeeper in-house. If you do choose Sage, we can supply and install it for you. As a Sage accredited partner, we can also provide training to ensure you can begin using Sage properly and to ensure that you are getting the most out of it.
By comparison with Sage, Xero is the new kid on the block but it is rapidly becoming the choice for new business start-ups. It’s an easy to use but powerful cloud-based accounting system that’s designed specifically for small and medium sized businesses. Xero provides you with your financial information in real time, wherever you are, whenever you want it. As accredited Xero partners we are well placed to get you up and running with minimum fuss.
Still a very popular and simple to use accounting package for small to medium sized businesses, with a fabulous data search facility. For a locally installed accounting package it is hard to beat.
A simple to use web-based software available through an inexpensive subscription service. FreeAgent is primarily directed at independent contractors and really small companies — it includes a basic Schedule C worksheet, which is helpful at tax time, as well as some nice expense-reporting features, together with excellent time-tracking and project management tools which make it easy to recommend to freelancers and contractors in particular.
